Overview

New Jersey oversize and overweight permits are issued by the New Jersey Motor Carriers' Unit, Division of Motor Vehicles. Single-trip permits are valid for three days.

Permit approval depends on the proposed route, dimensions, tire configurations and traffic-control needs.
